Stepping Into Freedom

This is where I dump the light and thoughts for my memories—the photographs, the raw feelings, the dirt from the roads. When you stand in front of something so beautiful it aches, you realize how small you are. I’m hoping this is the start of something big, even if it only happens inside the quiet spaces of my own ribs.

Whenever I stand on a jagged mountain peak or look at an endless piece of nature, my friends crawl into my head. I see all that massive beauty and wish they were standing right next to me, getting drunk on the view. So this is for them. And it’s for you, too – sitting in the dark, looking at these pictures. If these shots light a tiny spark in your gut to open your front door and go see this mad world, the miles were worth it. That would make me happy. And happiness is a tough thing to find, so let’s take it where we can.
